Jeremy Browne, 11th Marquess of Sligo

Jeremy Ulick Browne, 11th Marquess of Sligo (b. 4 June 1939 [http://www.thepeerage.com/p3477.htm thepeerage.com] ] ) is the 11th, and current, holder of the Marquessate of Sligo, a title created in 1800 in the Peerage of Ireland. Until the House of Lords Act 1999 he was entitled to sit in the House of Lords under the Barony of Mounteagle, created in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.

The son of Denis Browne, 10th Marquess of Sligo and Jose Gauche, Lord Sligo was married, in 1961, to Jennifer Cooper, daughter of Derek Cooper (d. 2007) by his first wife (md. 1937 and div. 1949) Pamela Armstrong-Lushington-Tulloch. His new wife was stepdaughter of the former Viscountess Ruthven of Canberra (d. 2006), and her father became in 1952 stepfather of two young stepsons, now the present Earl of Gowrie and his brother the journalist and Islamic scholar Malise Ruthven. The Marquess and Marchioness have five daughters, and currently reside in Westport House, Republic of Ireland .

The heir presumptive is his first cousin, Sebastian Ulick Browne.
