Sterling Campbell (b.
May 3 ,1964 ) is a rockdrummer who has worked with numerous high-profile acts. He began by working withCyndi Lauper in the mid-1980s, then was a member ofDuran Duran from 1989 to 1991 and ofSoul Asylum from 1995 to 1998. He has recorded and toured withDavid Bowie , David Byrne,The B-52's ,Tina Turner , and many more.Campbell was born and raised in
New York City .In 1998, he became a
Falun Gong practitioner. In February 2002, he travelled with some other Falun Gong practitioners toChina , to peacefully protest the Chinese government's ban of this practice method. He was arrested, detained, and finally expelled from the country.References
