state highway inLouisiana that serves Jefferson Parish. It spans 3.90 miles in a south to north direction. Entirely located in the city of Kenner, it is known locally as Williams Boulevard.Route description
From the south, LA 49 begins on Williams Boulevard at an intersection with US 61 (
Airline Drive ). It continues northward, passing West Metairie Avenue, West Napoleon Avenue, and Veterans Memorial Boulevard before meeting I-10 (Exit 223-A/Exit 223-AB) at a massive interchange. LA 49 continues northward past 32nd Street, West Esplanade Avenue, and Vintage Drive to a terminus at Joe Yenni Boulevard (formerly Sunset Boulevard) just south ofLake Pontchartrain . Williams Boulevard continues northward before meeting a marina.LA 49 a heavily-travelled due to heavy commercial development and its proximity to the
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport . It is a divided, four-lane highway between US 61 (Airline Drive ) and West Metairie Avenue. From West Metairie Avenue to Veterans Memorial Boulevard, it is an undivided, five-lane highway (with a middle turning lane). From there to the northern terminus, LA 49 is a divided, six-lane highway.Junction list
