Tom Russell is a Scottish radio presenter based in Glasgow.

Born near Kirkintilloch, he went to Lenzie Academy and his first job as metallurgist in Kirkintilloch iron foundry. At 18 he went to England on a student apprenticeship with the Ministry of Defence and studied mechanical engineering at Durham College.

On his return to Scotland, Russell opened a record shop in Bishopbriggs and then another in Shettleston. At a record company party, Tom met Radio Clyde boss Richard Park for the first time. After slating Park for the whole evening for not playing any rock on Radio Clyde, Park admitted to not liking rock. However, that conversation must have made an impact as Park phoned Tom and offered him a Friday Night Rock Show on Radio Clyde.

In October 2006, after 25 years at Radio Clyde, Real Radio (Scotland) boss Jay Crawford offered Tom a daily show on a then soon-to-be-launched station known as 96.3 Rock Radio.

Russell now presents weekday mid-morning and his show includes features such as "Rock Times", "Rock Buzz" and the "Godfather of Rock".
