cities =Lake Canobolas, formerly known as "Meadow Creek Dam", is a body of water located approximately 10 kilometres to the south west of
Orange, New South Wales . The dam was constructed in 1918 by the then Canobolas Shire Council as water supply to Orange. Since that time the administration of the dam has been taken over by Orange City Council. With the construction ofSuma Park Dam on the eastern side of Orange completed in 1962 and then used as the main water supply for Orange, Lake Canobolas was no longer required for domestic water supply purposes. It has since been developed as a recreation reserve and tourist attraction. Lake Canobolas is nearby to the popularMount Canobolas and along the road between the mountain and Orange.
