Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna, generally referred to as S M Krishna (born 1932) is former Governor of the
India n state ofMaharashtra and a formerChief Minister of the Indian state ofKarnataka .S.M. Krishna is the son of S.C. Mallaiah. He completed his Bachelor's in Arts from Maharaja's College,
Mysore and obtained a Law degree from Government Law College,Bangalore . Krishna studied in theUnited States , graduating from theSouthern Methodist University inDallas ,Texas andGeorge Washington University ,Washington D.C , where he was aFulbright Scholar. He was married to Prema on April 29, 1964 and has two daughters. Krishna is an avid sportsperson and playstennis regularly.In addition, Krishna has served multiple terms as an MP from the Mandya district of Karnataka and also
Rajya Sabha .He was member of Karnataka Legislative assembly and council at different times.Krishna resigned as Governor of Maharastra on
