RBC, the brainchild of
Frans Mathijsen andAnton Poldermans , was formed inJuly 31 ,1912 . The club was initially called "Excelsior" and was renamed "VV Roosendaal" in 1920. The club's present name is the result of a merger with another football team. OnJuly 16 ,1927 , the club became known as "Roosendaal Boys Combinatie" (RBC). Before 2001, RBC played its league games in stadiumDe Luiten , which had a capacity of 2,000 seat and 5,000 standing places. In 2001, RBC moved into its new 5,000 seater stadium. RBC was considered by many the smallest club in theEredivisie last season. In fact, they had the worst record of "any" club in the history of the league. This season the club will play in theEerste Divisie , which is of course not a surprise. The average attendance in 2004/05 was just 4,800 people.Pre
World War II successes are numerous but their last few seasons in the DutchEredivisie have been characterized by flirting with relegation. In the 2004/05 season, RBC just nearly survived theNacompetitie (relegation playoff). Relegation could not be avoided a year later, with RBC finishing bottom of theEredivisie in the 2005/2006 season. The clubs home colors are white and orange.Current squad
