Kentucky based rap group Nappy Roots have released "The Humdinger" on August 5th 2008 [MySpace.com, [http://www.myspace.com/fishscales FishScales MySpace Page] Retrieved on June 1, 2008] , the quintet's follow-up to their 2008 mixtapeCookout Muzik. It was announced to be released from 2005 [ [http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/7380677/nappy_roots_get_hummin Nappy Roots Get Hummin' : Rolling Stone ] ] , but has been delayed several times.

The album is their first major album since their 2003 album Wooden Leather and first album released under their N.R.E.G label's partnership with Fontana Distribution. It is also their first album not to feature R. Prophet; who has left the group to pursue a solo career.
