Lorenzo Leonbruno (1489 - 1537) was an Italian painter of the
Renaissance period, active mainly in his nativeMantua .By 1511, he is receiving a stipend from the duke
Francesco IV Gonzaga . He was a pupil of the painterLorenzo Costa . In 1521, he briefly traveled toRome . He also worked as an architect and engineer.Giulio Romano is said to have painted over much of his fresco work for the duke of Mantua.References
