Wally Bryson, born Wallace Carter Bryson on July 18, 1949 in Gastonia, NC, USA, is the guitarist with the power-pop/rock group The Raspberries, famous for their hits "Go All The Way", "Overnight Sensation" & "I Wanna Be With You".

Early History & Success

At age 4, Bryson's family moved to Cleveland, OH. In 1964 at age 15, he joined the group "The Mods" (which was renamed the Choir in 1966); this band included future Raspberries members Jim Bonfanti and Dave Smalley. With the addition of Eric Carmen and a minor lineup change, this group became The Raspberries in 1970 and helped to define the [power pop] genre. After experiencing plenty of chart success, the group encountered some internal problems which prompted Bryson to leave the group in 1974 at the height of their popularity --- the group didn't recover and disbanded a year later.

Post-Raspberries

After leaving The Raspberries, Bryson relocated to L.A. and formed the group Flyer briefly before starting the band Tattoo which included some musician friends from Cleveland, but this band's only album in 1975 received scathing reviews. Bryson then joined Fotomaker in 1977, a group which was promoted as a power pop supergroup by Atlantic Records featuring former Rascals members Dino Danelli and Gene Cornish. Fotomaker recorded 2 albums with Bryson which received little notice before he left just prior to their disastrous 3rd and last album.

Reunions

Bryson joined up with his son Jesse to record as The Bryson Group in 2004. That same year, Bryson reunited with original Raspberries members Eric Carmen, Jim Bonfanti & Dave Smalley for a live DVD and a series of concerts. As of mid-2007, the band operates an official web site and still tours to sold-out large club venues such as the House of Blues.
