Resurrection High School (Mississippi)

Resurrection High School (Mississippi)

Resurrection High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Pascagoula, Mississippi. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Biloxi.

Background

On October 6, 1882, five Sisters of Perpetual Adoration arrived in Pascagoula to establish a convent and a school. The Sisters began teaching in the school, then called the Academy of the Guardian Angels, immediately; initial enrollment was 47 students. Since that date, there has been continuous Roman Catholic education for the people of the diocese.

The school was renamed Our Lady of Victories Academy in 1937, then renamed Resurrection High School in 1988. cite web|url=http://www.rcseagles.com/about.cfm?PageID=30|title=History of Resurrection Catholic School|accessdate=2006-12-31|author=RCS]
