Shahram Khan

Sharam Khan is the son of a well known industrialist, Liaqat Khan of Tarakai swabi and are very well known throughout Pakistan. He is the eldest son of Liaqat Khan. He started his education from fazal haq college mardan, then moved to peshawar public school where he passed his metric exams. After doing his Fsc from Edwards college, he moved to UK and then Australia to gain further education.

Election

He was still in Australia when he was called back to Pakistan to stand as a candidate for the NAZIM-E-AALA of district Swabi. Due to the vast amount of resources he ran a very huge and impressive election campaign, advertising his adverts in national newspapers, on television and spent a lot of money on huge boards with his photos and his degree in his hand together in his convocatinal dress. He became very famous all over the country firstly due to the unprecedented publicity and also because he was very young and educationally bright person. The opposition candidates accused him of buying the votes using his father's vast resources. As the elections were held, he won the election with a very big majority. He then promised that he will work very hard to make his district developed. He then got even more fame by bringing both president musharraf and Prime Minister shaukat aziz to swabi who announced very big development packages for swabi.i must add that he won the election not only with the money but because of his family reputation, for welfare works, in the area.

Shahram Khan Tarakai worked very hard for the development of Swabi. First the developmental package of 100 m rupees, announced by the President was stopped from being brought to the district and distributed among the people of Swabi for development. The developmental pacakage was stopped systematically for almost one year after the announcement and Shahram Khan Tarakai fought hard to bring the developmental package and to start the developemtal work. Some of the area's that The District Nazim have worked on;

- Electricity schemes throughout Swabi, which includes extension of electric supply to all areas without electricity. - Gas supply to some area which already had pipleline and pipeline extension to other areas. - Shah mansoor hospital; working on to put in machinery and start the hospital ASAP. - Fixing the system, which has been neglected for the past 60 years and cleaning the district.

Education and Health has been very important in District Nazim's view and worked hard to improve both the sectors. The District Nazim's father Liaqat Khan Tarakai has always been famous for his charitable work in Swabi. Liaqat Khan Tarakai's Hospital has been helping thousands of families, especially serious patients who don't get medical help because of financial problems. Free English Medium School in Tarakai, which has been register for metric exams, the school is also equipped with computers. The family has been know for their charitable work throughout Swabi and their hospitality and respect for the people of Swabi.
