Grover's Bend

Grover's Bend is a fictional town in which the first two movies in the Critters tetralogy take place.

In the first film, the Brown Family lives a few miles out of Grover's Bend in a small farm house. Inside the town, the two intergalactic bounty hunters search the town for the krites in the church, bowling alley, and on the streets. The police station is lead by Sheriff Harv, played by M. Emmet Walsh.

Inside the police station, only two people other than Harv are mentioned. The officer, Jeff Barnes, and the secretary Sally, played by Lin Shaye. Grover's Bend is seen briefly in daylight when Charlie wakes up from spending the night in a jail cell, where little activity can be seen. Most of the shots are at night when the critters wreak havoc.

In Critters 2, the entire film takes place in Grover's Bend. In this film, the general outlook of the town is more old western than modern. It is filled with kids, but ironically, no school is mentioned! It takes place on Easter day, when the critters hatch from the Brown's old farm (which they moved out from years before).

The town's population is forced to flee into a church when all hell breaks loose as the critters enter town. The town then becomes typically abandoned as everyone runs to the church. The town contains one known restaurant, the Hungry Hieffer, which is supplied by Polo Burgers down the road from Grover's Bend. The town eventually goes back to its peaceful existence as the critters are defeated.

Grover's Bend is mentioned in Critters three, however none of the story takes place in it. Charlie mentions Grover's Bend, and a sign reading "Grover's Bend" is seen to show that the critters original setting is close by. Later on, Mr. Menges, an old man from the third film, mentions Grover's Bend.

Grover's Bend is mentioned by Charlie referring to his driver's license in Critters 4 at 51 minutes and 25 seconds
