The Las Cruces Police Department, also known as the LCPD, is the principal law enforcement agency of Las Cruces, New Mexico, under the jurisdiction of the city council and city manager of Las Cruces. It is the second largest municipal police department in New Mexico, with an authorized strength of 180 officers.
The department is alloted the following billets:
1 Chief of Police (symbol of rank: 4 gold stars)
2 Deputy Chiefs (symbol of rank: 3 gold stars)
7 Lieutenants (symbol of rank: 1 gold bar)
22 Sergeants (symbol of rank: white sergeant stripes)
148 Officers/Detectives/Agents (symbol of rank: none)
