Katharina Sophia Schultz

Katharina Sophia Schultz (June 26, 1965, Dresden) is a German painter known for her unique pop art style. Schultz is a member of a group of rising East German artists who have ushered in a new age of German painting centered in Berlin.She grew up in East Germany and studied at the academy of fine arts in Dresden under professors Gerhard Kettner, Fritz Pandorf and Johannes Zepnik.In 2007 she settled in Munich where she is a member of the "bund bildender künstler deutschland".

Personal life

Schultz was born on 26 June 1965 in Dresden. Her parents were active artists and from early childhood on inspired her to paint. She studied at the academy of fine arts in Dresden and was mentored by Gerhard Kettner, Fritz Pandorf and notably Johannes Zepnik, himself a respected artist. The influence of Zepnik can still be found in her work.
