Joseph Mor Gregorios

His Grace Dr. Mor Gregorios Joseph (born 10 November 1960) is a Syriac Orthodox bishop. His Grace is the Secretary to the Holy Episcopal Synod in Malankara.

Early years

HG Mor Gregorios Joseph was born as the youngest of four children to Srambikkal Pallithitta Geevarghese and Saramma in Perumpally, Mulanthuruthy. He is the Grand child of the cousin of St.Gregorios Gewarghis Chathuruthil. His Grace had his primary education at Perumpally Primary School and high school education from Mulanthuruthy High School.

Priesthood

At a very young age of 13, His Grace was ordained deacon by Late Lemented HG Dr. Mor Gregorios Gewarghis Perumpally at Mor Ignatius Dayaro, Manjanikkara on 25 March 1974. Dn. Joseph served as the Secretary to Mor Gregorios (Perumpally) for many years. Dn. Joseph did pre-degree and degree from Maharajas College, Ernakulam and joined Mor Julius Seminary, Perumpally for his theological studies. Later on 25 March 1984, Dn. Joseph was ordained Kassiso at Marthoman Church, Mulanthuruthy, by the late Lemented HB Mor Baselios Paulose II, Catholicose of the East. Fr. Joseph did his Masters in Philosophy from University of Wublil, Ireland and higher studies in theology from USA and obtained a Doctorate in Theology. While in the USA, he served as the vicar of many churches. Fr. Joseph was ordained Ramban by HH Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas at Damascus on 16 January 1994. On 19 January 1994, Very Rev. Joseph Ramban was cosecrated Metropolitan by HH Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Prince Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, at Damascus, for the Cochin Diocese in Malankara. Sunthroniso was held at Kyomtha Cathedral, Thiruvankulam on 23 January 1994 and assumed the office of the diocese. His Grace served as the President of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Sunday School Association (MJSSA) from 1996 till 2002.

* Assistant Metropolitan of Ankamali Diocese (Perumbavoor Region)
* Secretary to the Holy Episcopal Synod in Malankara
* Manager of the Educational Trust of the church. His Grace is a philanthropist and an eminent educationalist. His Grace founded meny educational institutes, The Gregorian Public School at Ernakulam and St.Gits Engineering College, Kottayam to name a few.
