Bob Boilen

Bob Boilen

Bob Boilen was the director of the NPR show "All Things Considered" (1989-2007) and is the current host's and the creator of NPR's online music show "All Songs Considered". Boilen writes music with electronics and friend Michael Barron [ [http://web.mac.com/michael.barron/Site/home.html home ] ] , both were founding members of the psychedelic dance band Tiny Desk Unit (1979-1981). Boilen also composed the original theme music for "Talk of the Nation" [ [http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=2100252 Bob Boilen, NPR Biography] ] . From 1982 to 1986 Boilen filled a variety of roles at Baltimore's Impossible Theater. He has also worked as a producer for Channel 50, and produced "Science Live" for the Discovery Channel. Boilen played synthesizer in the post-punk rock band Tiny Desk Unit in Washington, DC in the early 1980s.
