Claire Elizabeth Cooper (born 26 October 1979^[1] in Wakefield, West Yorkshire) is an English actress who currently plays Jacqui McQueen in British Channel 4 series Hollyoaks. She has also appeared in other British television shows, including Waking the Dead in 2004 and Coronation Street & Waterloo Road in 2006.

As a child Cooper was a British Champion Gymnast for 10 years.^[2]

In 2007, Cooper was nominated for the Best Actress award at the Inside Soap Awards.^{[citation needed]}

Cooper attended the Guildford School of Acting.^{[citation needed]}

Cooper designed a charity Christmas card for the 2008 BBC Children in Need.^{[citation needed]}

Claire has been shortlisted for 'Best Actress' at the British Soap Awards 2011. She has also received a panel nomination for 'Best Dramatic Performance' for her portrayal of Jacqui McQueen.

Personal life

Cooper co-owns clothing rental boutique The Closet^[3] in Liverpool with Hollyoaks co-stars Jennifer Metcalfe and Leah Hackett.^[4]
