Lucan concert band

The Lucan Concert Band - [http://www.lucanconcertband.ie Lucan Concert Band] was formed in 1983 by Eithne Donnelly. It's purpose being to provide muslcal education to the youth in Lucan. The band was intially a recorder group for St Mary's Boys School in Lucan, then expanded into a Concert Band, catering for both male and female students.

The Lucan Concert Band is based in the county Dublin village, Lucan, which is approximately 15 Kilometers from Dublin City Centre, Ireland. Band rehearsals still continue on a Monday evening from 8-10pm, for further information, please contact the band via www.lucanconcertband.ie. The bands age profile ranges from young students to adults, and always welcome new or returning members.

The band is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2008. Throughout the band 25 years existance, they band have been very well received performing at many various events ranging from their own hometown of Lucan, venues throughout Ireland, and even as far as the United Kingdom & Prague.

Since 2001, the band has been under the direction of Lorcan Daly, a celebrated musician from a celebrated musical family. Lorcan himself is a Principal French Horn player with Irelands Army No 1 Band.

Lucan Concert Band have gone from strenght to strenght, and have been Intermediate Section winners at the 2005 and 2006 [http://www.iabcb.ie Irish Brass and Concert Bands] . In 2008 at the [http://www.iabcb.ie Irish Brass and Concert Bands] the band came an impressing 2nd place in the Section Two Championships.

As part of the band instrumental lessons are taught on all wind, brass, and percussion instruments.
