Swansea Madonna

The Swansea Madonna is a large woodcarving that was exhibited at the Swansea Museum in 2006. It was hand carved by the Northern Ireland-born sculptor Robert Innes. The figure shows Mary with Gilded Halo and a visible child in her womb. A daffodil emerges from her feet. Also at her feet is a dove. The piece was carved in sycamore. This iconic piece of work was articled in the "South Wales Evening Post" and the "Carmarthen Journal".
