Daniel Ward (born 9 July 1977) is a former Australian Rules footballer for the Melbourne Demons.
Playing his first game in 1998, Ward is a defender and was named as the club's 'Most Improved Player' for 1999. Two years later he was fifth in the Best and Fairest. He is a former Fitzroy Football Club reserves player.
Ward is a 'run and carry' type player, known for his dashing runs and rebound attacks from defence and his ability to evade opposition players. However his decision making and disposal skills sometimes let him down, and for this reason, he is sometimes relegated to the Sandringham Football Club.
