Karakan is a turkish
rap group.On 1991, Alpertunga Köksal aka Alper Aga established the German/Turkish group; Karakan.
On 1993, Big Porno Ahmet and Kerim Yüzer aka
Kabus Kerim joined Karakan. In very little time, the success of Karakan surpassed the borders of Germany and started to get well-known within the European HipHop scene.During the jams, they met Cinai Sebeke (The Crime Posse) and Erci E and established the legendary band Cartel. almost all songs of Karakan and the song Cartel were made by Kabus Kerim, with the help of Big Porno Ahmet."Cartel" was the most successful Turkish Hip-Hop albumFact|date=February 2007; Cartel sold over half a million copies. It was the first Turkish music hit to be shown on
MTV .Fact|date=February 2007The group received the "Best European Act" award from MTV on 1995. With this unexpected award, within the first month, they got Golden Cassette and Platinum Record from the record company.
Between 1995 -1997, Karakan performed over 100 concerts.
On 1998, Karakan released their first and only solo album; "Al Sana Karakan" with Kabus Kerim as the supervisor and executed by Chill Fresh. During the album promotions, Alper Aga decided to drop his music career and began his educational studies. With these incidents, Kabus Kerim decided that theres no point to work anymore on Al Sana Karakan and he actively recessed his music career.
