Isaac Matongo (
12 March 1947 –2 May 2007 ) was aZimbabwe an politician, and labor activist born inMasvingo . Matongo was elected vice-president of theNational Engineering Workers' Union in 1988, eventually serving in the same position with theZimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions . He was the founding chairman of theMovement for Democratic Change , which is now the main opposition to theZANU-PF party led byRobert Mugabe . He died on2 May 2007 of suspected heart failure.ources
