next_no = 2"Friends" is the first track on the 1992 album "The Extremist" by American guitarist Joe Satriani. The track, noted for its anthemic style is notable for the use of the harmonics technique by Satriani. The chord progression is from D major, to A Major to B minor to D major again.
Satriani performs the track using a drop D tuning on the guitar and when performing the track live most often uses a different guitar.
In a GftPM magazine interview, Satriani states that he originally composed the song on bass guitar while looking through a book of photographs of smiling children.
