K-Bar

K-Bar

A K-Bar is a flavored toffee confection made by Whittaker's of Porirua, New Zealand.

K-bars are available in blackberry, lemon, lime, orange, raspberry and pineapple flavours. The bars themselves are about 11cm long, weigh 24 grams, and contain soya lecithin. K-Bars are a strange kind of toffee, as they have a soft chewy outside, but a tough, bendy yet brittle inside. A K-bar is normally priced at around NZ$0.30 (but up to NZ$0.75 at some petrol stations).

The K in K-bar stands for Kwench, a take on the spelling of quench.
