RPLU

Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) is considered to be the only professional designation exclusively for people in the Professional Liability industry. The self-study courses provide a broad, basic overview of the professional liability disciplines. The curriculum includes five (5) self-study courses covering the following topics: 1) General and Umbrella Liability, Reinsurance, Classification and Rating Systems, 2) Professional Liability Overview 3) Non-Medical Professional Liability, 4) Medical Professional Liability, and 5) Directors' and Officers', EPL and Fiduciary Liability.

Designees must pass exams in five (5) core courses, though Part I of the course can be waived if the student meets certain requirements. These exams are standardized, proctored, multiple choice exams. The RPLU designation is administered by the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).
