Wyeth , responsible for its pharmaceutical and medical products divisions, and was elected to theBoard of Directors in 1995. Hassan joinedPharmacia &Upjohn in May 1997 as chief executive officer and in February 2001 he was named Chairman of the Board of Pharmacia after the merger withMonsanto . He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for thePharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and for theHealthCare Institute of New Jersey .
