Massimiliano Duran (born November 3, 1963 in Ferrara, Italy) is a former Italian professional boxer who briefly held the Cruiser WBC title and the European championship.
Career
Also known as "Momo", Duran turned pro in 1986 and lost two early bouts by KO and DQ. He couldn't punch but was a good boxer and won the WBC Cruiserweight Title with a disqualification victory over Carlos De León in 1990, after De León was disqualified for hitting after the bell to end the 11th round. Duran was leading on the cards. He beat Anaclet Wamba also by DQ after Wamba had been penalized a total of five points but lost the rematch the following year by TKO and the rubber match again by KO.
In 1993 he beat Derek Angol by KO for the vacant European crown but lost the title by stoppage to Carl Thompson. After another KO loss he retired.
