"Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics" comprises two seasons. nihongo|"Grimm Masterpiece Theatre"|グリム名作劇場|Gurimu Meisaku Gekijou aired from October 21, 1987 to March 30, 1988, for a total of 24 episodes. The nihongo|"New Grimm Masterpiece Theatre"|新グリム名作劇場|Shin Gurimu Meisaku Gekijou aired between October 2, 1988 and March 26, 1989, totaling 23 episodes. It was also localized under the series' English name.
The fairy tale anthology was broadcast in North America by Nickelodeon and in local stations throughout Latin America.
