Kopeika is a famous retail chain in Russia.

History

Kopeika was founded in 1998 with 38 stores [cite web|url=http://www.templetonthorp.com/en/news435| title=Yukos Sells Its 50.5% of Kopeika|date=2003-10-06|accessdate2007-12-31] .The firm first gained prominence in when it was taken over by the ill-fated Yukos oil giant in 2002 [cite web|url=http://www.themoscowtimes.ru/stories/2002/01/21/001.html| title=Moscow Times - Yukos take over|date=2002-01-21|accessdate2007-12-31] .
