ACE Freighters

ACE Freighters was a British cargo airline from 1964 to 1966.

History

The airline started operations in March 1964 with on Lockheed Constellation. It carried out world wide ad-hoc charters from London Gatwick Airport. More Constellations were added to the fleet and after leasing a Douglas DC-4 it was bought and another acquired.

As well as charter flights the airline carried out regular flights for the Ministry of Defence. In July 1966 a subsidiary company ACE Scotland was formed. It operated one Constellation from Glasgow on Inclusive-tour work to the Mediterranean resorts, the only passenger flights the airline operated.

The airline ceased operations in September 1966.
