Kia Vaughn (born
January 24 ,1987 inthe Bronx, New York ) is an American basketball player. She was a member of the 2007 women’sRutgers University basketball team that won aBig East Conference championship and was theNational Collegiate Athletic Association runner-up to the Tennessee Lady Vols.Vaughn helped Rutgers to a perfect 16-0 in the league for a Big East title. In her sophomore season she was named the All-Met Division I Women's College Basketball Player of the Year. Vaughn averaged 13 points per game, 9 rebounds per game, and 3 blocks per game. She was the only player to start and play in all of the games in the 2006-2007 season. Another impressive statistic for Vaughn is that she has 15 career double-doubles with 12 of them coming in her sophomore season. Vaughn was also a member of the 2006 USA U20 National Team that won the gold at the 2006 FIBA Americas U20 Championship for Women in
Mexico City ,Mexico . In the tournament she averaged 12 points and 3 rebounds in 5 games.More attention has been brought to the Rutgers program since their season ended with a loss in the NCAA Championship game.She and the other 9 players and coaches forgave Don Imus for saying the infamous words, after their meeting on April 12, 2007
