Livingston, California , is part of the Merced Union High School District. Ralph Calderon has been the principal since the 2007-2008 school year. Currently, the four associate principals include Kuljit (Kay) Malhi, Hector Bravo, and David Seifert. The school contains grades 9-12. Students come from Ballico Middle School and Livingston Middle School.Diversity

Usually, the classes are approximately an hour in length. Subjects include English, mathematics, science, social science, etc. Other subjects include foreign language, photography, art, and band. The school provides tutoring to students in need of help for their classes as well.
Year At The School

There are 7 different schedules at Livingston High School: Regular schedule, collaboration, activity, minimum day, Rally, Morning assembly, and Final Exam. Each schedule, except for Final Exam schedule, has 6 periods, lunch, and Sustained Silent Reading (SSR), which takes place during third period. Buses depart at 3:00pm daily, except on Minimum and Final Exam Days.
Regular Days
The day starts at 8:00am. Periods are approximately 54 minutes long. School ends at 2:50pm.
Collaboration Days
Collaboration schedule is every Wednesday. School starts at 8:50am and ends at 2:50pm. This is because the staff meet together to coordinate with one another. Sometimes school-wide meetings are held during the 50 minutes in the morning. Periods lengths are approximately 46 minutes long.
Minimum Days
On Minimum Days, students start at 8:00 a.m. and leave at noon. Classes are about 32 minutes long. These days are usually before a holiday, but can also be used as rewards. School lets out at 12:15, and buses depart at 12:20.
Rally Days
On Rally Days, the rally starts at 8:00am, and is suppose to end at 8:24.
Morning Assembly Days
School starts at 8:00am. The assembly is during 2nd period. Half of the school attends the assembly during second period, while the other half is in class. After 40 minutes, the two halves switch. Periods are about 50 minutes in length. School lets out at 2:50pm.
Final Exam Days
School starts at 8:00am during final exam days. Each period is an hour and twenty minutes in length. There is no SSR on these days. Lunch is still served after school. Only periods 1-3 are attended one day, while periods 4-6 are attended the next. Busses leave at 12:20pm.
Vacation Days
Students receive various vacation days including the holidays. The
Thanksgiving Vacation, as an example, is where students do not attend classes for the entire week of the Thanksgiving holiday. Summer vacation usually begins around early June and students return to school at mid-August.
