Trumaine McBride (born September 24, 1985 in Clarksdale, Mississippi) is an American football cornerback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League.

High school career

McBride attended Clarksdale High School and was a student and a letterman in football. In football, he was selected All-America and to the Top 300 list by PrepStar magazine. [ [http://olemisssports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=73085&SPID=737&DB_OEM_ID=2600&ATCLID=542683 Ole Miss Sports] ]

Trumaine is the cousin of former Division I collegiate-basketball standout Leroy McBride III. Leroy was an unusually strong power forward who played for Rich Walker at Florida International University (FIU).

College career

He then played at the University of Mississippi, where he was a three-year starter who registered 48 tackles and broke up nine passes as a senior. Junior numbers were 34 tackles 1 for a loss and 8 broken up passes. As a sophomore, 36 tackles, 3 for a loss and 13 breakups. Professional career

The Chicago Bears selected McBride in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He served as one the team's reserve cornerbacks, behind Nathan Vasher and Charles Tillman, who had both been signed to multi-year contracts over the summer. McBride received playtime during week four, after Vasher sustained a groin injury that sidelined him for much of the 2007 season. McBride earned a starting role during week seven, after he established himself as one of the most consistent members of the Bears' already injury-depleted secondary. [Mayer, Larry.
