Trumaine is the cousin of former Division I collegiate-basketball standout Leroy McBride III. Leroy was an unusually strong power forward who played for Rich Walker at Florida International University (FIU).
College career
He then played at the
University of Mississippi , where he was a three-year starter who registered 48 tackles and broke up nine passes as a senior. Junior numbers were 34 tackles 1 for a loss and 8 broken up passes. Chicago Bears selected McBride in the seventh round of the2007 NFL Draft . He served as one the team's reservecornerback s, behindNathan Vasher andCharles Tillman , who had both been signed to multi-year contracts over the summer. McBride received playtime during week four, after Vasher sustained a groin injury that sidelined him for much of the 2007 season.
