Mike Haddad, WMUR Chief Meteorologist
In March 1993, Mike Haddad began working at WMUR-TV ABC9 as weekend weather anchor. He quickly moved to weather anchor of News 9 Daybreak and News 9 at Noon. In July 1998 Mike was promoted to Chief Meteorologist. You can catch him weekday evenings on WMUR News 9 at 5:00, WMUR News 9 at 6:00 and WMUR News 9 Tonight at 11pm.
Mike grew up in
Byfield, Massachusetts and is the oldest of three children. His deep interest in weather began during the time of the "Great Blizzard of 1978" (a storm which kept him out of school for one whole week).After graduating from the
University of Massachusetts at Lowell with a B.S. in Meteorology and following an internship at WHDH inBoston , he went on toPenn State to get his masters in Meteorology (graduated Spring of 1993). While at Penn State, Mike was a teaching assistant for two years.Mike broadcasts weather for The Mill, 96.5 FM radio. In addition to TV and radio, he represents WMUR-TV in visits to New Hampshire schools and other organizations for weather presentations. He also takes part in the annual Penguin Plunge to support Special Olympics New Hampshire.
His hobbies include sailing and hiking in the spring and summer, and skiing and "Celtics watching" in the winter. He lives with his wife, Andrea, and their children, Alexander and Megan, in southern New Hampshire.
