The Top Latino 40 ("in English "Latin American Top 40") is the first musical list or ranking in
Hispanic America , that compiles rankings or charts from more than 1000 radio stations of 20 countries and territories since 2004. The territories included in the list are:Argentina ,Aruba ,Bolivia ,Brazil ,Chile ,Colombia ,Costa Rica ,Dominican Republic ,Ecuador ,El Salvador ,Guatemala ,México ,Panama ,Paraguay ,Peru ,Puerto Rico ,Spain ,United States (Latin detections),Uruguay ,Venezuela .The Latin Top is also transmitted as a weekly show of two hours of duration in over 130 radio stations in 15 countries and is hosted by Patricia Lúcar. Every single show is available for free, live on the official website of the countdown.

The ranking is made by giving a starting score to the number-one position of every country and the following positions have smaller scores in proportional way. The starting score is calculated in base of the population of every country and it's importance in the musical industry. The math of all the scores forms the Latin Top, which are the top 40 song in airplay in twenty countries, therefore the it is considered "The List of Official Hits in Hispanic America".
