Ottó Baditz (March 19, 1849 – April 21, 1936) was a Hungarian painter. He painted mostly genre pictures in an academic style.
Biography
Baditz was born in Tótkeresztúr. He was Károly Steinacker's pupil in Sopron and studied law in Pozsony. He studied art at the Vienna Academy in 1871 and the Munich Academy later. He lived in Munich for 15 years and shared a studio with Béla Spányi for some time. He mainly painted portraits of children. He died in Magyarkeresztúr. He is best known for his 1899 painting "Women in the Prison".
