Dimokratias Square (Agrinio)

Dimokratias Square (Greek: Πλατεία Δημοκρατίας Plateia or Platia Dimokratias) is the central square of the city of Agrinio.

The square was created in 1879 when Michail Bellos (Μιχαήλ Μπέλλος) was mayor, with the older plan for the council of lower and upper (except Eirinis Square) square. For many decades, it was known as Bellou Square (Πλατεία Μπέλλου) which was named after the mayor, one of the most important in the history of Agrinio.

Several streets that start at the square are named after Avraam Anastasiadis (Αβραάμ Αναστασιάδη), Panos Soulos (Πάνο Σούλου) and Christos Salakos (Χρήστο Σαλάκο).
