The Reasoning's debut album, "Awakening", was released on 26 March 2007. It was mixed by Dave Meegan who has worked with, among others, Marillion and U2. Steve Rothery of Marillion makes a guest appearance with the guitar solo on "Within Cold Glass". Lead vocals are shared between the band's 3 vocalists, all of whom perform a section of the lead vocals on the album's title track.

The band are currently in the studio recording their 2nd album "Dark Angel" which is due for release on the 8th September 2008 for the Ltd Edition version of the album and the 22nd September 2008 for the one disc version of the album. The band are then on tour through October and November 2008 doing their own headline shows and supporting "Fish".

The new album really highlights the 3 voices of the band and also shows the darker, heavier and more technical side of The Reasoning.
