History

*May 22, 1888 Opened as nihongo|Ashikaga Station|足利駅|-eki of Ryōmō Railway.
*November 1, 1906 Ryōmō Railway was nationalized and became Ryōmō Line(JNR).
*February 1, 1984 Discontinued freight services.
*April 1, 1987 JNR divided and became private, and this station became a station of East Japan Railway Company.
