Forest View High School was a
public secondary school in southernArlington Heights, Illinois , operational from 1963 until its closure due to declining enrollment in 1986. Forest View's mascot was "Ferdie the Falcon,"and school colors were silver, black and gold.The facility currently hosts a number of administrative and alternative-education facilities for
Township High School District 214 .A yearbook from the school was used as a prop in an episode of the television series The Bionic Woman. An alumnus was working on the set and they needed a high school yearbook at the last moment; this individual had one nearby.
Famous graduates include
Jerry Jenkins (class of 1967), co-author of the best-sellerLeft Behind series of books;Donald Foster (class of 1968), a Vassar professor, best well-known for his forensic literary analysis;Christopher Hill (class of 1969), a noted theoretical physicist and co-author of "Symmetry and the Beautiful Universe," (with Nobel Laureate Leon Lederman); Kevin R. Young, (class of 1975), an author/historian who has worked as a consultant on several historical films and has been featured on several History Channel documentaries on the Alamo and Texas history.
