Kappil

Kappil is a beautiful small village rich in culture, located near the famous Oachira Temple. It is located in the district of Alapuzha in Kerala, which is the southern state of India. It is mainly divided as Kappil East and Kappil West. Kattachira, Choonadu etc are some of the nearest places. The nearest town is Kayamkulam which is only 5 km away.
The residents speak malayalam with a central travancore accent. This village has a literacy rate of above 95%.
Kappil has beautiful backwaters that has become a tourist attraction.

NNMUPS or Alummoottil School and Vishawabharathi High School are two schools in this village.

Still another town in the same name (Kappil) is a border town of Quilon and Trivandrum districts. Scenic backwaters, beach and watersport available. Connected by railways, only passenger trains stop at Kappil, frequent buses to Trivandrum 65km, Quilon 30km and Varkala 10 km. A temple and mosque are other sites to visit. The bridge at Kappil, TA Majid bridge, connect Varkala and Paravur. Kappil, Nellatil, Edava, Paravur,Nadayara etc are nearby backwaters- canals worth visiting.
