Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology (SSCET) is the first Engineering College in India to be named after Adi Shri Shankaracharya and blessed by all present jagadguru. This college was commissioned during the session 1999-2000 with the goal of providing undergraduate and postgraduate education in Engineering and Technology, a close interaction with industry, and a strong emphasis on research and development.

SSCET has grown steadily in size and activities during the last five years of its existence. During 1999-2000 the yearly enrollment was 240 students and today it is 720 for BE,60 for MBA,60 for MCA and 90 seats for ME and M.Tech courses. SSCET attracts the very best talent from Central India and around. In recognition of its achievements Courses of SSCET are accredited by the National Board of accreditation. Also it's an ISO 9001:2000 Certified Institute. We strive to become and be recognized as one of the prominent technical education centers in India. SSCET was the first choice of students seeking admission in 2003-2004 & also in 2004-2005 in the state of Chhattisgarh.

The college is situated in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, which is famous for its big steel plant and thus has no dearth of technically trained people with sound scientific background . The location of the college is an added advantage to the student, because there is no distraction being away from the hustle-bustle of the town and yet not secluded. This creates a unique atmosphere of educational excellence.

Through the scope and depth of its varied programs and services, the Institute maintains a tradition in quality and innovation while meeting complex societal demands. The Institute currently offers bachelor degree programs, Masters degree programs, Doctoral degree programs in Engineering, Computer Science & Management areas of study.

The Institute strive for providing a technically advanced academic environment & achieving a national recognition through acquiring a well directed & honest effort.
