De Volanges came from a family of artists (painter and architect), which meant that he was exposed to music at a very early age. Guitar in hand, he left Paris for
London in search of adventure. While there he spent some time playing with the pop/rock and roll group, Shine. Upon his return to France, he met up with Mustakim who had been brought up in the world of politics (a diplomat father and a mother who worked withUNESCO .) Mustaki soon realized that music was the life for him and so he left his studies behind. The two partners found that their musical interests were divided among thepiano , bass andguitar . De Volanges spent some time writing music forfilm s, with Mustaki writingjingle s for theradio . At the beginning of 2001, the duet started work on the single, "Do You Love Me" in their homerecording studio and followed that up with the album "Black Sun" on 4 December 2002.Discography
