"Mademoiselle" is an electropop musical group composed of Martin de Volanges and Rami Mustaki from Paris, France. In December 2002 they released their only album entitled "Black Sun". In various biographies, Serge Gainsbourg has been listed as one of their influences.

Biography

De Volanges came from a family of artists (painter and architect), which meant that he was exposed to music at a very early age. Guitar in hand, he left Paris for London in search of adventure. While there he spent some time playing with the pop/ rock and roll group, Shine. Upon his return to France, he met up with Mustakim who had been brought up in the world of politics (a diplomat father and a mother who worked with UNESCO.) Mustaki soon realized that music was the life for him and so he left his studies behind. The two partners found that their musical interests were divided among the piano, bass and guitar. De Volanges spent some time writing music for films, with Mustaki writing jingles for the radio. At the beginning of 2001, the duet started work on the single, "Do You Love Me" in their home recording studio and followed that up with the album "Black Sun" on 4 December 2002.
