Mugaritz is a restaurant in Errenteria, Spain with 2 Michelin stars.[1] Chef Andoni Aduriz apprenticed at El Bulli. Mugaritz was voted 4th best restaurant in the world by Restaurant (magazine) in 2008, up from 7th place in 2007. In 2011 the restaurant had climbed to the 3rd place.[2] Aduriz uses the term techno-emotional cuisine to describe applying science to cooking.[3]
The name of the restaurant is from muga eta haritza, Basque language for "the oak at the border" between Astigarraga and Errenteria.[4]
