George Savile (cricketer)

George Savile (April 26 1847 - September 4 1904) was a first class cricketer who played 16 first class matches, 10 for Cambridge University from 1867 to 1868, 5 for Yorkshire County Cricket Club from 1867 to 1874 and 1 for Canterbury in New Zealand in 1871/2.

A right handed batsman, he scored 529 runs at 23 with his only century, 105 coming against Marylebone Cricket Club. He scored 3 fifties, took ten catches and completed one stumping.

He was born on April 26, 1847 in Methley, Yorkshire and died on September 4, 1904 in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. His uncle, Arthur Savile, played 6 first class games.
