GMI Retail Management Company is a joint-venture of Simon Property Group, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund and SZITIC Commercial Property Co,. Ltd. aiming at a long term development of retail real estate in China. Today, the joint-venture has invested over RMB 3 billion in Changshu, Hangzhou, Hefei, Suzhou and Zhengzhou.
On June 5, 2008, The first project opened in Changshu, China. Wal-Mart , together with other international brands, such as Forever 21, C&A and Starbucks, have committed to anchor in all five projects. Meanwhile, GMI Retail is developing new projects in other important cities throughout China.
