Jamie Rickers (born 21 May 1977, Chelmsford, Essex) is the producer and presenter of
GMTV 's programme for children, "Toonattik ". The programme is broadcast on GMTV's weekend children's slot, known as just plainly "CITV ", and theCITV Channel .Jamie was born in Chelmsford, Essex and grew up in Burnham-On-Crouch, a small village near Southend, and went to school at St Peter's High School in Burnham.
Jamie left school at 16 and joined the Colchester Institute School of Music and Drama, studying for his Music Foundation A-level and gaining a BA Honours Music degree in 1996.
Jamie's first job in broadcasting was working as a programme runner for LWT. During his career he has also worked as researcher and Celebrity Booker on "Michael Barrymore's My Kind of Music", "Kids Say the Funniest Things", "An Audience with The Bee Gees" and "An Audience with The Spice Girls".
Jamie has also worked on LWT's "
Caught Red Handed ", withAndi Peters on "Andi Meets Britney", the CITV Awards and "The Richard Blackwood Show". Jamie joinedGMTV in 2000.Jamei produced and presented GMTV's Sunday kids' show "Up On the Roof" until February 2004 when "Toonattik" was launched, which now runs on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
In 2000 Jamie presented "Water Warriors" for Carlton TV which won an RTS Award for 'Best Entertainment Show'.
Rickers also co-hosts CITV's "
