2WG is an Australian radio station which transmits on 1152kHz on the AM band. It is licensed to the city of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. The station was originally owned by a husband and wife team, the late Eric and Nan Roberts, who where both formerly school teachers in Narrandera. It officially commenced broadcasts from the former Hardys' Building in Fitzmaurice Street overlooking the Wollundry Lagooncite book |last=Morris |first=Sherry |title=Wagga Wagga, a history |year=1999 |publisher=Bobby Graham Publishers |pages = p 187 |location=Wagga Wagga |isbn=1-875247-12-2c ] broadcasting on the Oura Road Transmitter site with 2,000 watts on 29 June 1932 and operated between 6.00am and 11.00pm. In 1998 DMG Radio Australia brought both 2WG and FM93 (now 93.1 StarFM). In late 2004 the stations where brought by Macquarie Regional RadioWorks who currently own and operate the stations. The station including its sister station (93.1 StarFM) was originally located in Fitzmaurice Street but was moved to its current site at Prime Television on Lake Albert Road in 2001.
