Jamil Walker (born April 21, 1981 in Rochester, New York) is an American soccer forward and midfielder, who currently plays for the Portland Timbers of USL First Division. He previously spent five season in Major League Soccer.

College

Walker played his first year of college soccer at the United States Air Force Academy, where he played 10 games, starting 7, and scored three goals and one assist. As a sophomore, Walker transferred to Santa Clara University. After unimpressive sophomore and junior seasons, Walker exploded for 14 goals as a senior, and being named first-team All-West Coast Conference.

MLS

Upon graduating, Walker was selected 39th overall by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft, and signed to a developmental contract. Although Walker saw little playing time in 2003, he emerged as a sparkplug late in the season, finishing the regular season with four goals in just 365 minutes; his performances earned him a significant part in San Jose's playoff run, where he started three of four games, registering one goal and two assists as the team won the MLS Cup. Unfortunately for Walker, coach Frank Yallop left at the end of the year, and his replacement, Dominic Kinnear, was reluctant to play the relatively raw Walker. So, after a tremendous run in 2003, Walker played in only ten games in 2004, starting two, and registered no points. After 2004, Walker was left exposed for the MLS Expansion Draft, and 15th overall by Chivas USA. He was released before the 2005 season and signed with DC United where he played from 2005 through 2007. DC United waived Walker on March 14, 2008.

USL First Division

Walker was signed by the Carolina RailHawks of the USL First Division following his being waived by D.C. United. He played his first game with the RailHawks in a 1-1 tie with the Atlanta Silverbacks on April 19, 2008.

On July 9, 2008, the RailHawks traded Walker to the Rochester Rhinos in exchange for Hamed Diallo. The Rhinos then immediately traded Walker and Chase Harrison to the Portland Timbers for Andrew Gregor.
